Sliding Panel, Charlotte Perriand for the Hôtel La Cascade, Les Arcs 1600

REF: 8264

Sliding wardrobe door designed by Charlotte Perriand for the guest rooms of the Hôtel des Trois Arcs, Les Arcs 1600, circa 1969.

Crafted from solid pine, it is composed of evenly spaced vertical battens that animate the surface while highlighting the natural grain of the wood. The recessed handle, cut directly into the panel, reflects Charlotte Perriand's pursuit of simplicity and functionality throughout the interiors she designed for the resort.

Conceived as an integral part of the interior architecture, this door illustrates Perriand's approach to built-in furnishings, where construction, function and material are brought together in a coherent architectural whole.

Provenance: Hôtel des Trois Arcs, Les Arcs 1600.
