Designer

A resolutely minimalist spirit for this tripod armchair model Dr Sonderbar designed by Philippe Starck, a reference to Doctor Sonderbar, one of the characters in the science fiction book UBIK by Philip K. Dick.

For Starck, "swinging on a tripod is more dangerous but more fun", thus adding an element of humour to everyday objects. A similar example is kept in the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

The perforated seat and the backrest forming tubular armrests are made entirely of chromed steel.
