Sculptural anthropomorphic lamp by Albert Tormos in cream Gard stone, circa 1974.
A French sculptor and designer, Albert Tormos explored the expressive potential of Gard stone during the 1970s, carving it into totemic volumes. His lighting creations, standing between art and design, recall archaic figures and can be seen both as functional objects and as sculptural works.
This model features two light sources: one at the top of the head, radiating upward, and another within the body, casting an inner glow. The interplay between the raw stone texture and the warmth of the light enhances the symbolic dimension of the piece.
