Designer

  • Carlo Di Carli

Chest of drawers model D154 in red lacquered wood, designed by Carlo De Carli and produced by Sormani, Italy, circa 1963.

It features three large drawers with circular brass black painted handles, creating a striking contrast with the glossy red lacquer. The base is composed of grooved column-like supports resting on cubic gunmetal-patinated metal sabots, while the overhanging top with molding enhances the model's understated elegance.

A rare piece that reflects the collaboration between Carlo De Carli and Sormani within Milan's modernist design of the 1960s.
