Designer
Modular bookcase designed by André Sornay in the mid 1950s and produced in France.
Composed of two independent vertical units, the bookcase combines a stained solid wood structure with adjustable light-colored laminate shelves. Perforated side uprights allow flexible shelf height adjustment, following a modular and rational system typical of Sornay's furniture. The slightly projecting upper section houses an integrated fluorescent light, discreetly concealed within the structure, providing soft, functional illumination for the shelves while preserving the clarity of the design.
This model reflects André Sornay's approach to functional, standardized and adaptable furniture within postwar French modernism.
