Wall-mounted coat rack from la Cité Radieuse circa 1952

REF: 7386

Wall-mounted coat rack in yellow lacquered wood, anonymous work under the probable direction of Le Corbusier, circa 1952

It is composed of six massive wooden hooks, carved in a curved form and mounted on a rectangular wooden board, lacquered in yellow. Functional and straightforward, this design is typical of the fittings created for the Cité Radieuse in Marseille in the early 1950s.

Through its robust construction and bright color, it reflects the modernist ambition to integrate practical, standardized elements into daily life, consistent with the architectural program of the Unité d'Habitation.
