Polygonal vase in slip-cast porcelain, with painted decoration and gold highlights. Broad, bluish and gray brushstrokes enliven the surface with a free and expressive gesture, revealing a painterly approach to the material.
This work comes from the heartland of the stoneware revival in France after 1945, where artists championed the freedom of the hand and the fusion of art and material. Through its gestural treatment and architectural form, this piece testifies to the vitality of the La Borne school.
