Unique handmade piece by Alice Colonieu
Rare pitcher with a large handle and spout, made from chamotte clay and glazed in green and white.
A circular artist's stamp is impressed on the underside of the base.
Alice Colonieu (1924-2010) was a French ceramicist and sculptor, trained at the École des beaux-arts in Marseille and the École de céramique in Montpellier. She is known for her ceramic works with organic shapes and vibrant colors, primarily made using the coiling technique. She exhibited at the Salon des Arts Décoratifs and won several awards, including a gold medal in 1961. Collaborating with decorators such as Jean Royère, her works are held in prestigious museums such as the Musée national d'Art moderne in Paris.
