Extremely rare four-door sideboard, a.k.a "Bloc" designed by Charlotte Perriand for the mining town of Cansado, Mauritania.
Mahogany top and interior shelves, base and legs in black lacquered sheet metal, doors in white and gray melamine.
Manufactured by Galerie Steph Simon, circa 1962.
The specificity of this sideboard is its rarity, it was produced in a much more limited edition than the usual Cansado sideboard, with the side drawers. The reason for this? It was designed for the homes and offices of the company directors.
