Erwine & Estelle Laverne

Erwine & Estelle Laverne (1909 - 2003)
Trained in fine arts, the American designers and interior designers, Estelle and Erwine Laverne met in 1932 and got married shortly after. Together, they have created magnificent and innovative mid-century modern wallpapers, fabrics and furniture still coveted today for their beauty."The Invisibles" serie, organic, modern forms in transparent acrylic, reveals their innovative capacity and their creative talent. As Erwine said, "the most important element in rooms is people, not furniture", hence the choice of lighter-than-air lines. Among their iconic furniture, we can quote the "Champagne" chair or the "Tulip" chair produced in 1968.See also Estelle Laverne
