Alain Jean Tavès

Alain Jean Tavès (Born 1931)

A painter and architect who graduated from L'Ecole Spéciale d'Architecture in 1956, Alain Jean Tavès worked and trained alongside Le Corbusier. When the latter died, he created his own architecture studio and after, joined the team of Charlotte Perriand, with whom he worked on the Arcs 1600 & 1800 ski resorts projects.

In the 90s, he began a collaboration with the Sentou gallery, which produced his "Tavès" extendable bed, inspired by a study on transport pallets.

"It is a beautiful object, practical, natural, timeless, structured in its plastic and its durable construction" Alain Jean Tavès.
