Solid pine stool designed by René Martin, nicknamed "René les Ciseaux," a discreet yet key figure in postwar alpine design. As a close collaborator of Charlotte Perriand, he contributed to the furnishing of ski resorts such as Méribel and Les Arcs in the French Alps.
Set on a four-legged base with rounded, turned supports, the stool features a thick circular seat with a subtle hollow, highlighting the natural grain of the pine. Combining simplicity, sturdiness and rustic elegance, it reflects the refined craftsmanship and timeless modernism of mountain furniture from this period.
